Taping Cropped Ears
There are many ways to tape cropped ears. These pictures show them using popsicle sticks. I have replaced the sticks with Dr. Scholl's® Molefoam. I glue a piece of the molefoam into the ear with Skin bond glue. then continue to tape the ear as shown. Never tape ears when sores are still visible. Please call if you have questions.

Use popsicle stick wrapped in facial tissue and tape. Push down in ear and stretch ear up the stick. Strick should be one-half inch longer than ear. Use a 2 1/2" piece of tape up one side of ear, over top, and tape to other side. |
Gently wrap tape around the ear, laying tape to ear and not pulling it too tight. Very important to avoid cutting off circulation. Roll a 2 inch wide porous tape around the splint. Continue around the ear, always going clockwise on left ear and counterclockwise on right ear. |

Use a center brace if ears are tending to fall out to the side too much. Use one-inch porous or waterproof tape. On center brace, additional tape may be applied to insure firm support |
Leave the tape on the ears for six days at a time. Remove tape over night, and leave tape off unless the ears begin to fall or tip. In that case, retape for six more days. |
