Ear Care
Following ear cropping...
- Make sure you puppy has the hair clipped off the outside of the cropped ear (use a #40 blade). Hair makes the ear heavier.
- Never tape over sore edges
- Keep hair pulled out of the ear canal
- Use triple antibiotic ointment or panalog on the sore edges
- Post and repost the ears until standing. Remember that when they teethe, the ears may fall again. If that happens, post them back up until adult teeth are in
I use mole foam and skin bond glue to keep them up
Natural ears should be taped as we show you for about 4 days. Tape again if they start to stand.
TIP: Keep hair pulled out of the ear canal. Ear powder makes it easier to grip the hair. Use a hemostat or blunt-nose tweezers.
