Ear Care

Following ear cropping...

Make sure you puppy has the hair clipped off the outside of the cropped ear (use a #40 blade). Hair makes the ear heavier.
Never tape over sore edges
Keep hair pulled out of the ear canal
Use triple antibiotic ointment or panalog on the sore edges
Post and repost the ears until standing. Remember that when they teethe, the ears may fall again. If that happens, post them back up until adult teeth are in

I use mole foam and skin bond glue to keep them up

Natural ears should be taped as we show you for about 4 days. Tape again if they start to stand.

TIP: Keep hair pulled out of the ear canal. Ear powder makes it easier to grip the hair. Use a hemostat or blunt-nose tweezers.
